The ancient scriptures said that Altai will become the centre of a new civilization. The Old-Believers came to Altai seeking for enigmatic Belovodie, Ak-Kem – the White Water and dazzling beauty of Belukha (The White Mountain), (Uch – Sumer, Kadyn-Bazhy – “The Mighty Goddess”). The mountain Uch-Sure, where the Gods live, was called Three-Headed in the old times. Could it be the stronghold of Northern Shambala? It is the place the Great Russian traveller and artist Roerich N.K. went to from Upper Uimon River through Kholodnyi Belok. The Katun River origins from Uch Sure glaciers and these two were called Wife and Serpent by the ancestors. The Katun River coiled up like a snake resembling a famous Katunskaia Podkova - Katun horseshoe…
