Kolban – the Holy Summit of Uimon valley
In the northern part of Katun ridge, between Akchan and Kuragan rivers, the giant truncated pyramid rises above Uimon valley. The pyramid is not marked on the maps, yet many groups of tourists have ascended to the summit along the narrow ridge to view the cyclorama with Katunskyi, Terektinskyi and Chuiskyi ridges. The pyramid is surrounded with snow-capped peaks with ten rivers at the foot of it.

The initial day-to-day schedule of the itinerary:
Day 0 – meeting at the camp, placement, dinner.
Day 1 – 22 km – from Camp to Akchan River. Crossing over the í/ê Pass 2355 m – a great view of Belukha mountain provided the weather is fine. Camp by the waterfall stream.
Day 2 - 9 km – radial path to Akchan lake and glaciers.
Day 3 - 10 km – climbing Kolban mountain, 3130 m. Captivating view of thee ridges.
Day 4 - 20 km – another í/ê Pass 2800m, slope to mountain lake Kyrgyz – two mysterious remnant stones reminding ancient fortress and altar on the way to Kyrgyz mountain. We will also travel along vivid Kyrgyz stream down to the camp on the bank of Kuragan river.
Day 5 - 38 km – to Katun River downstream Kuragan River– a taiga part of the route.
Day 6 - 20 km
The track from Katun curves round the famous Filoretka mountain, 1783 m, named after one of the Leaders of Old-Believers who had concealed himself out on this mountain and had been blessed with revelation. We will travel along Multa River and return to where we set off.
